With positive results, UNESC’s ozone research advances and contributes to society

The search for results is part of the ozone research group at Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense, which over the years has generated many promising results. The research group started their studies by applying ozone, intending to treat acid mine drainage (AMD) that originates from coal and uranium mining, where the results were published in scientific journals and one book. From these studies, the group started to research the treatment of other effluents and mainly for the microbiological treatment in rice and soybeans.
